Prepare for NSW fires, floods, storms, heatwaves and other disruptions.
Start with official planning resources

Open official resource — RFS bushfire survival plan ↗Get Ready NSW organises preparation around understanding your risk, making an emergency plan and packing an emergency kit. Use the official guidance for the hazard, location and needs of your household.
Discuss these needs before an emergency
- Who needs help, and who can provide it if the usual carer is unavailable?
- Where will you go, how will you travel, and what is your backup route?
- How will you receive warnings and contact people if power or mobile service fails?
- What medicines, documents, equipment and supplies need to leave with you?
- How will you move pets, livestock or assistance animals safely?
These are planning prompts, not an evacuation order or a complete kit specification. Use the agency checklists below and review your plan when your circumstances change.

Save essential contacts
Print the urgent-help page and your household’s plan. The Site’s page menu offers PDF export for printing, or use your browser’s Print function. A printout is a backup reference; current warnings still come from official services.
